Ellen Archibald

Before finding midwifery I went to school to study international development. I focused on human relationships with the environment. During this time I developed a passion for the health and autonomy of birthing people.

During my school years I worked as a tree planter in northern Ontario. This work sparked a love of northern Canada. This love has inspired me to live in communities like Thunder Bay, Whitehorse and now Prince George. I also have a strong commitment to supporting northern, rural and remote health care.

While practicing midwifery here in Prince George I hope to build an understanding of pregnancy and birth as a healthy and normal phase of life while empowering people to learn about their reproductive health and rights.

I graduated from McMaster Midwifery in 2021. I am honoured to be serving the families of Prince George and look forward to getting to know this community well. I am committed to practicing with cultural humility and an understanding of the ongoing impact of Canada’s colonial legacies.

I relocated to Prince George from my hometown of London Ontario, with my partner. We just adopted a new puppy Lucybell. I love to cook, camp, watch a good show and listen to podcasts. I am looking forward to getting to know you!
