Becca Mlikotic

Hello! My name is Becca and I have been working as a midwife in Prince George since 2019 (some of you may recognize me from the New Beginnings office). I have been away for sometime on maternity leave but am excited to be back to practice following my own journey to motherhood.
A little about myself: I was born in Vancouver to immigrant parents but lived most of my life in Kelowna ~ part of the unceded territory of the Syilx/Okanagan people. In 2014, I completed a BSc in Biochemistry at UBCO. I was strongly considering medical school until I attended an information session for the UBC Midwifery program.
During the presentation a midwife shared experiences from her practice and a spark ignited in my heart. I was attracted to the person-centred approach of midwifery care, the time spent with families cultivating relationship and trust, and how midwifery uniquely bridges the clinical and relational dimensions of maternity care.
A year later I was accepted into the UBC Midwifery program and attended births literally across the province: Vancouver, Penticton, Prince George, Parksville, Williams Lake, and Nelson. Since settling in Prince George, I have so enjoyed the craft and calling that is midwifery in our community. One of my favourite parts of this work is being able to educate families so that they feel more informed (and hopefully a bit more confident) as they navigate this season of pregnancy and birth.
I look forward to supporting you and your families.
